Description

Bang Bang Chicken features crispy fried chicken coated in a creamy, spicy sauce, creating an irresistible blend of flavors perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups plain panko breadcrumbs
  • Canola oil (for frying)
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha sauce, and honey. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together buttermilk, Sriracha sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add chicken, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  3. Combine all-purpose flour and cornstarch in a shallow dish. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and dredge in flour-cornstarch mixture, dip in egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat canola oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F. Fry chicken pieces in batches for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and toss with half of the Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Plate chicken, drizzle with remaining sauce, sprinkle with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, try baking or air frying the chicken instead of frying.
