Description

Crispy shrimp tucked inside warm tortillas, topped with a creamy, sweet-spicy Bang Bang sauce and fresh cabbage.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • Spices: paprika, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • Bang Bang Sauce: mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha
  • Corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, cornmeal, and spices in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
  4. Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Mix Bang Bang sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
  6. Warm corn tortillas in a dry pan for about 30 seconds on each side.
  7. Assemble tacos with fried shrimp, shredded cabbage, and Bang Bang sauce, garnishing with cilantro.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using an air fryer. Adjust spice levels in the Bang Bang sauce to your preference.
