- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- Spices: paprika, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
- Bang Bang Sauce: mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha
- Corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the coating by mixing flour, cornmeal, and spices in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Mix Bang Bang sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
- Warm corn tortillas in a dry pan for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Assemble tacos with fried shrimp, shredded cabbage, and Bang Bang sauce, garnishing with cilantro.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider using an air fryer. Adjust spice levels in the Bang Bang sauce to your preference.
