- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Place the seared chicken in a baking dish and pour BBQ sauce over the top, coating every inch.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top and bake for 20-25 minutes until juices run clear.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
- Garnish with fresh green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
Allow chicken to rest at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 165°F.
