- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Oil spray (for air frying)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
- Allow the dough to cool until manageable.
- Transfer the cooled dough into a piping bag or a zip bag with the corner snipped off.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe bite-sized pieces of dough into the air fryer basket, making sure they have space to expand.
- Lightly spray with oil and cook for about 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl. Toss churro bites in this mixture while hot.
- Serve warm and enjoy!

For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
