Description

Delightful Hawaiian meatballs infused with crushed pineapple and soy sauce, perfect for gatherings or family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped green onions, crushed pineapple, salt, and black pepper. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to blend until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into balls about one inch in diameter, and set aside.
  3. Place meatballs into a slow cooker or on a prepared baking sheet for baking.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic powder, and grated ginger until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce over the meatballs. Cook in a slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours, or simmer on the stovetop for about 30 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with additional green onions if desired.

Notes

Make meatball mixture a day in advance, or freeze raw meatballs to cook later. Shrink meal prep time by cooking meatballs in an air fryer.
