Description

Prawn Saganaki is a delicious Greek dish featuring prawns cooked in a rich tomato sauce with feta cheese, herbs, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 400g canned tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the canned tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes until it thickens.
  5. Add the prawns to the skillet and cook until they turn pink.
  6. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese on top and let it melt slightly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
