- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup fruity red wine (Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 14 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prep Your Ingredients: Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Combine the Base: In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground beef, fresh parsley, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the Meatballs: Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
- Brown the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Create the Sauce: Remove meatballs, pour in wine, and scrape up browned bits.
- Simmer to Perfection: Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth, return meatballs to the skillet, and braise on low heat for 30 minutes.
