Description

Delicious meatballs filled with cheese and spinach, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
  • 2 cups Fresh Spinach
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 small Onion (optional), finely chopped
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 8 oz Low-Moisture Mozzarella Cubes
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Parsley

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Spinach: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add spinach and salt, sauté for 2-3 minutes, then let cool and chop.
  2. Prepare the Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, sautéed spinach, garlic, onion (if using), egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until just combined.
  3. Add Cheese: Fold in mozzarella cubes gently.
  4. Shape the Meatballs: Wet hands slightly, form mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes until golden-brown and internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Serve Warm: Let rest for a few minutes and serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For make-ahead tips, prepare the meatballs the night before and store them uncooked in the fridge. For quicker cooking, try an air fryer.
