Description

Deliciously spiced donuts made with fresh apple cider and drizzled with rich caramel, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce for glazing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease each cavity of your donut pan with non-stick spray.
  2. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Whisk the wet ingredients in a separate medium bowl: apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the dry and wet ingredients together gently until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. Drizzle caramel sauce on top of the donuts and allow it to set before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the batter the night before. If you don’t have a donut pan, use a muffin tin instead.
