Description
A comforting and festive lasagna perfect for Christmas Eve gatherings, layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella.

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground meat and brown for about 7-10 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Assemble the lasagna: spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish, place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, add half of the ricotta mixture and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken. For vegetarian, use layers of spinach and mushrooms instead of meat.
