Description

A delightful and creamy classic dessert with a buttery crust, perfectly sweetened filling, and a hint of cinnamon on top.


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Ground cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt in a medium saucepan.
  3. Whisk together thoroughly.
  4. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and bubbles (about 5-10 minutes).
  5. Pour the creamy filling into the pre-baked pie crust evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are firm and the center is softly wobbly.
  7. Allow to cool on a wire rack to help the filling set completely.
  8. Before serving, sprinkle ground cinnamon lightly over the top.

Notes

Cool completely before cutting to avoid a runny filling. This pie can be prepared a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
