Description

Comforting porcupine meatballs made with a savory blend of ground meats and rice, served in a rich marinara sauce; a perfect family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, ground pork, uncooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs with lightly oiled hands.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add the meatballs to brown on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs, cover, and let them simmer on low for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with extra marinara sauce and fresh herbs.
