Description

A comforting and delicious casserole featuring ground beef, rice, creamy mushroom soup, and a cheesy topping that’s perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup cheese (e.g., cheddar)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green beans or mixed vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Add in the chopped onion and cook until softened, roughly 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Combine the cooked beef and onion with rice, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, cheese, and any optional vegetables in a large mixing bowl. Stir until well incorporated.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge. Experiment with spices for added flavor.
