Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow the mixture to rest for 5-10 minutes until it froths delightfully.
  2. Prepare the dough: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center, pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Dust your countertop lightly with flour and turn the dough out onto it. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise: Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
