- 8 oz Italian Sausage
- 1 can (15 oz) Tomato Sauce
- 8 oz Pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Onion, chopped
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup Fresh Basil, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the Skillet: Drizzle olive oil into a skillet over medium heat and let it shimmer.
- Sauté Aromatics: Add onions and sauté until translucent. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Brown the Sausage: Crumble sausage into the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked.
- Add the Tomato Sauce: Stir the tomato sauce into the skillet and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season: Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Combine with Pasta: Toss in the drained pasta, mixing well until coated. Use pasta water to loosen if necessary.
- Serve and Garnish: Plate the pasta and top with Parmesan cheese and chopped basil.
