Description

A comforting dish of creamy scalloped potatoes layered with savory ham and melted cheddar cheese, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Combine the heavy cream and milk in a mixing bowl, season with salt and pepper, and whisk until blended.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the diced ham, and half of the shredded cheese in a greased baking dish. Repeat the layers.
  5. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the layers.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with paprika before serving.

Notes

Assemble the dish a day in advance and refrigerate it before baking for better flavor. Customize with your favorite vegetables or cheese.
